How did Commercial Reforestation begin?

Commercial reforestation began in Brazil when the first Forest Code was launched in 1934 due to the predatory deforestation of our native forests. However, it was only in 1985, with the new Forest Code, that significant changes and forest management was initiated.
According to the IBGE, it is estimated that there are already 10 million hectares of planted forests in Brazil. The advantages of planting commercial forests for Brazil are numerous, encompassing environmental, social and economic benefits.
Among the environmental advantages, commercial reforestation collaborates directly with the preservation of native forests, since with the increase of forests aimed at the production of raw material, deforestation is not necessary for this purpose.
